Privacy Policy

This page explains what Just One More Mod collects when you visit, who else can see it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read rather than to be impressive.

The short version

What you actually need to know

  • We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell personal information.
  • We use analytics to see which pages get read. That involves cookies and your IP address.
  • Some outbound links to retailers are affiliate links. Those retailers set their own cookies once you land on their site.
  • You can block all of it with a browser content blocker and the site will still work.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, this one records standard technical information when a page is served: your IP address, browser and operating system, the page you requested, the page that referred you, and the time of the request. This comes from ordinary web server logs and from analytics scripts.

We use this in aggregate — which guides are read, which ones people leave immediately, whether something is broken on mobile. We are not trying to identify you personally and we have no interest in doing so.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses analytics cookies to distinguish one visit from another and to measure traffic. It may also set functional cookies required by the underlying publishing platform.

Analytics is provided by third-party services, which process the data on their own infrastructure under their own privacy terms. If you would rather not be counted, a content blocker or your browser’s tracking protection will stop these scripts from loading, and nothing on the site depends on them.

Affiliate links

Some links to retailers and manufacturers are affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. The retailer, or the affiliate network sitting between us and the retailer, sets a cookie to attribute that visit.

This matters for two separate reasons, and we would rather be blunt about both. First, it is a privacy disclosure: once you click through, you are on someone else’s site under their privacy policy, not ours. Second, it is an editorial disclosure: commission never determines which parts we recommend or how we describe them. Our position on that is set out in full in our editorial standards.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent personal information.
  • We do not run a newsletter that you did not ask for, and we do not buy email lists.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from children.
  • We do not build advertising profiles about individual readers.

Third parties who can see data

Data reaches third parties in three ways: the hosting provider that serves the site, the analytics provider that counts visits, and any affiliate network or retailer you click through to. Each of these operates under its own privacy policy, and you should read theirs if you want the detail of what they retain and for how long.

Your choices

You can block analytics and affiliate cookies with a content blocker or your browser’s privacy settings. You can clear cookies at any time. Depending on where you live — the EU, the UK, California and a growing number of other jurisdictions — you may also have a legal right to request a copy of the personal data held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted.

To make a request like that, or to ask a question about anything on this page, use the contact page. Because we do not operate accounts, in most cases the only data tied to you is held by the analytics and hosting providers rather than by us directly, and we will say so plainly rather than pretend otherwise.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect changes, this page changes with it. Material changes will be reflected here rather than announced separately, so the date below is the one that matters.

A note on scope: this policy covers justonemoremod.com only. It does not cover any retailer, manufacturer or forum you reach by following a link from here. It is also a general privacy notice rather than legal advice — if you operate in a jurisdiction with specific disclosure requirements, confirm those independently.
